Padma Lakshmi Bio

 Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1, 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi's parents divorced when she was just 2 years old. Her mother emigrated to America to escape the guilt of divorce in India. Lakshmi lived for two years with her maternal grandparents, in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. Her parents divorced later and she has a younger half-brother and a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi shares her name with the Hindu goddess wealth and prosperity. She was born in New York, then moved to Los Angeles with her stepfather and mother. She would return to India for a short period of time each year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting around the time of 29 in 1999. Her first role was in 'Figlio di Sandokan, an Italian pirate movie. Then, she played a role in  the film 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which is a period drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001, she was host of Italy's highest-rated TV show, 'Domenica In. She was in a hilarious supporting role as disco-singing singer in a movie called 'Glitter. Padma is the mother of a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was conceived on February 20, the 20th of February, 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who was the former CEO and chairman of IMG, is also her partner. Lakshmi is currently dating American venture capitalist Adam Dell, has a daughter who is named Krishna. Although she initially kept the identity and whereabouts of her baby's father secret, Lakshmi revealed that he was Dell. "Everything is better when she's around," she said of her daughter. "Anything from morning till the night. I don't have the patience to pay attention to anyone other than her.
