Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actor and singer from Irish descent. The passionate, fiery role she played in various American film productions was the reason that attracted attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her beauty and elegance were well-loved. Her name was also known as the Queen Of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her character onscreen was a reflection of her strong, courageous spirit that fought to survive and gain recognition in a male-dominated world. She referred to herself as "the tough Irish girl" and would not give up her admiration for other people to get the roles she was entitled by merit. She was a fervent advocate for female actors in both television and film and gained a large following due to this. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", released in 2004, provided an unflinching description of her life and the challenges she faced to climb the ladder to success. She was an adventurous lady who wasn't afraid to do her own stunts. Over the years she appeared in more than 60 films and gained a lot of popularity throughout the world. She got married in 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former pilot brigadier and chief, who pioneered transatlantic aviation. Within a couple of years of their union, O'Hara decided to quit her job. Blair however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in the year 1978. O'Hara's happiness was short-lived. The same year, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required immediate surgery. She was successful in recovering. Her health declined as time went by and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six as well as short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. On October 24, 2015 O'Hara peacefully expired in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
