Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress, director, and activist. Her most well-known character is the role of Ginny Weasley, the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years until she was selected to appear as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was seen in several independent films after the series. The films received moderately rated. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from University of the Arts London. In 2012, she founded BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first directed project was the coming of age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to high reviews. She directed Know Thyself (2016), starring Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016) both of which used landscapes and emotions as themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018), starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based on A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She also produced music videos for artists Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn, and Scarlett Johansson. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been acknowledged for her environmental activism.
